Justin Bieber appeared at Coachella 2026 in a GRENADE outfit, causing a sensation online. The Vietnamese text on stage further excited his fans.

The opening stage of Coachella 2026 saw the exciting return of an icon - Justin Bieber as the highest-paid headliner in history, earning a staggering $10 million (over 263 billion VND), but what the singer delivered on stage divided the world between disappointment and overwhelming joy.

Critics argued that Justin appeared too "casual" in his outfit of a hoodie, t-shirt, and shorts, looking like he'd just walked straight from home onto one of the biggest stages of his career without any styling effort. However, upon closer inspection, the Vietnamese online community unexpectedly discovered something to be proud of. Besides the familiar SKYLRK hoodie and t-shirt, the LOEWE high-top boots, and the Puffa Shorts he wore, the outfit itself was a design from a Vietnamese brand: LỰU ĐẠN (Grenade).

.but for true fans of the singer, they are willing to accept a new, calmer, and more profound version of Justin.

The fleeting moment when the original Vietnamese text appeared on the big screen at a major international music event truly made fans back home feel proud. This was no coincidence, as Justin Bieber is a loyal customer who has repeatedly chosen this brand to accompany him in his most important appearances.

Behind this edgy name is Hung La, a Vietnamese-American designer currently living and working in London. He founded LỰU ĐẠN in 2021 and officially launched it in 2022 as an ambitious personal project. His profile is impressive, earning him the respect of any fashion enthusiast, as he holds a Master's degree from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp – one of the world's most prestigious fashion schools. Before building his own empire, he followed a path few Vietnamese people would dare dream of, working as an apprentice with Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga and later with Phoebe Philo at Celine.

Vietnamese-born fashion designer Dai La

Before the creation of GRENADE, Hung La, along with his wife and creative partner Léa Dickley – who previously worked for Alexander McQueen and Rick Owens – had created Kwaidan Editions, a womenswear brand that was a finalist for the LVMH Prize in 2018. However, GRENADE is where Hung La can tell the story of his identity, a story he hadn't had the chance to express throughout his years in the industry. He chose the name not just for its cool sound, but to redefine the image of the Asian man: freedom and defiance, rather than the stereotypical molds that Hollywood has imposed for decades.

Justin Bieber is a fairly familiar customer of GRENADE.

The brand's aesthetic inspiration is drawn from the image of Asian gangsters in 80s and 90s films like "Young and Dangerous," or the Japanese bōsōzoku gangs. It's a blend of dangerous and romantic elements, expressed through silk shirts printed with snake, tiger, and leopard motifs, or oversized, glossy leather jackets and rugged flared jeans.

Each product is like a scene from a movie that Hung La has watched over and over again since childhood, and now, it's proudly stepping onto the world stage alongside global stars like Jung Kook, Billie Eilish, and Felix. The appearance of an original Vietnamese name alongside international music icons is not just a story about fashion, but also an indescribable joy for the Vietnamese fan community.
